Serinyá, Spain 

On Saturday, October 15, in Serinyá (Girona), the same place where they died, the Spanish Province celebrated the 75th anniversary of the martyrdom of our seven MSC confreres of Canet de Mar (Barcelona). They were killed on September 29, 1936.

We began with a celebration of the Eucharist presided by the bishop of Girona, Bishop Francesc Pardo. In his homily he underlined the fidelity of these Servants of God right to the end of their lives. This should help us live our vocations with greater gift of self to God and others. At the end of the Eucharist we prayed for their beatification and made a floral offering.

About 100 persons took part in the ceremony. Besides MSC from different communities and the parish priest of Serinyá, among the present were a nephew of one of the Servants of God and his wife, members of the Organizing Committee who have always supported this cause, a group of people connected with our Shrine of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and our San Miguel College in Barcelona, Daughters of Holy Mary of the Heart of Jesus from Valdoreix and local civil authorities. We ended the celebration with a meal together.
