Available from Coventry Press, Bayswater, Melbourne. Google, Coventry Press, Brian Gallagher, Compassion.
From the back cover: Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Romans 12:15
Brian Galagher uses the words integrity, humility, grace in people to talk about their compassion, their being with other people. They are found in the many examples which Brian gives, through chapters on Listening, Humility, Generosity, Hospitality. The writing is semi-autobiographical, as Brian uses examples mainly from his own experience. In a paraphrase of Pope Francis’ description of humility, he concludes that compassion is that virtue which, when you have it, you don’t think you do.
