RIP,  GREG McCANN MSC

Fr Steve Dives writes: Our dear confrere Greg McCann Snr died peacefully last night at 9pm (Tuesday) at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home at Kensington.

He was born on April 18^th 1917, professed as an MSC Brother, February 26^th 1945, ordained a priest, August 20^th 1983.

Here is the Chronicle of his life which was prepared for his 100^th birthday, April 18^th 2017.  His was a varied life and MSC ministry.

1917-1943: Education, Work.

1943-1946: Douglas Park.

1946-1950: Chevalier College.

1950-1951: Kensington.

1951-1957: Sideia.

1958-1974: Trobriand Islands.

1975-1976: Hagita.

1977-1979: Japan.

1980-1983: Seminary.

1985-1986: Hagita.

1987-1988: Douglas Park, stomach virus, helping Fr. Stan Tyler.

1989-1992: Fiji and Kiribati.

1993-1996: Douglas Park, Priest-in-charge of parish.

1997: Coogee, Treand House.

Then, Kensington, semi-retired. St Josephs.
