Celebration of MSC Mission Office, 25th Anniversary
After Mass, Roger with Randwick PP, Pat Mara MSC
Eucharistic Celebration to open our year, 26TH March 2023
Some points from the homily by Fr Roger Purcell msc, Director.
“Lazarus, here, come out!” Jesus calls Lazarus to a new life, renewed life, a fuller life.
Then Jesus said, “Unbind him, set him free” He liberates him to live a full live., and returns him to his family.
The Mission Office calls people to “come out!” To come to a new and fuller life in the freedom of fresh clean water, education and training, health and a good environment. To live a fuller, more human life sharing all the goods of the earth.
Jesus told Mary and the people gather that they would “see the glory of God”. All the recipients of our projects who now have a better life are the glory of God. The glory of God is humanity fully alive, the life of humanity is to see God.

Jesus sent us to proclaim the good news to all, to evangelize the world. We are sent not only to proclaim this good news, but to be the good news. Jesus came to reveal the very heart and life of our God, so we are sent to reveal and be God with us, to reveal God, Jesus and the Spirit.

Some things that Lazarus needed immediately were a wash, a drink of water, food and new clothes. His sisters attended to all that as he returned to his family. We are called to do this for our sisters and brothers in all corners of the world.
In 25 years we have provided for the needs of many to the amount of $25,000,000.00.
