RIP. Herman Kooyman MSC
Malcolm Fyfe has informed us that Herman passed away at 5:40 pm today (Saturday 30th July). He was still making the occasional phone call until a couple of days ago. Due to the increased pain that he was experiencing in the last two days, he was administered more medication; he died peacefully. His sister Anne was very grateful that she made the trip to Darwin a couple of weeks ago to visit him and spend those precious days with him. He was 86 years of age.
Born in Holland, Herman migrated to Australia. He made his profession on 26th February 1964. He spent twenty years in PNG, before and after novitiation, worked in MSC schools and in more recent times in the Northern Territory, in Darwin.
Herman was continually creative.

Herman contributed creatively, hands on, to the life of the Province. Last year we posted a list of some of his achievements, repeating them now as a tribute to Herman. Hagita High School
