Philip celebrates his 80th birthday in the Kew Community on February 3rd.

He made his first profession on February 26th 1960, did his studies at the Sacred Heart Monastery, Canberra, ANU, and Croydon, ordained in Sydney on July 16th 1966.

He taught for many years at Downlands, Daramalan (completing Arts and Education degrees), St John’s Darwin and Chevalier (and at Elm Court).  After Moral Theology studies at the Alphonsianum, Rome, he taught Moral Theology at St Paul’s National Seminary from 1986 until it closed at the end of 1998. He was a consultor on ethical issues with hospital boards.

Philip then moved to Kew, teaching at the Yarra Theological Union (Moral, Introduction to Liturgy, Presiding at the Eucharist) from 1999-2021. At the end of last year he retired.  He also taught for some years at the Heart of Life Centre and was Director of Pre-novitiate at Blackburn. For many of these years, he has been Community Leader for MSC Victoria and Tasmania (and still is!).
