HAPPY 106TH BIRTHDAY MRS REID

With Daramalan’s 60th anniversary kicking off in February next year, it’s timely to recognise our oldest teacher Mrs Jean Reid. Jean, who along with Mary Barton (Miss Donnelly), were the College’s first two female teachers way back in 1962.

In a remarkable testament of a life well lived, Jean will celebrate her 106th birthday this weekend making her one of Australia’s oldest citizens, with only around fifty residents senior to her.

She is pictured here with her ex-student and hairdresser Emilio Cataldo (1972), who travelled down to Jean’s home in Moruya to prepare her hair for this weekend’s celebrations.

Happy birthday Mrs Reid from all of us who were fortunate enough to be taught by you and express our thanks for all your dedication and patience.
