A Farewell to Paul Beirne, Heart of Life Director (2014-2021)
Staff of Heart of Life gathered with Paul and his wife, Anna, and son, Sean, to acknowledge Paul and his contribution to leading Heart of Life, especially in its two recent location moves and completing 2020 and 2021 despite so much lockdown and so much having to conduct programs by Zoom – and substantial health challenges.
MSC Provincial Superior spoke in tribute to Paul. Paul recalled his Siloam year in 1980 and what the recent years have meant in terms of providing Spirituality and the Spiritual Direction programs. Speakers also acknowledged his years as Dean of the Melbourne College of Divinity and his leading to its transformation to the University of Divinity. Heart of Life, through the Yarra Theological Union connection is part of the University of Divinity, .
Also farewelled were Lis Teggelove RSM and Michele McCourt.
Lis was in the 1982 Siloam program and has been a member of the staff since 2002. She has been part of the Siloam supervision team, leading seminars and a spiritual director.
