LORD JESUS CHRIST,
You invite us to trust you

Sharing His Sorrow
LORD JESUS CHRIST,
In Gethsemane and on the cross
where your sacred side was pierced,
you knew as none other
the bitter sorrow of a lonely heart.
Grant, we pray you,
that we who are cast down by the loneliness of our pilgrim path, may rejoice to suffer with you;
and may the light of your Father's love
shine in us - as it did in your heart –
a light which the darkness could not overcome.

you suffered in spirit with Christ on the cross;
stand by and strengthen us when we are called to share

Making up to Him
LORD JESUS CHRIST,
Lifted high on the cross
Your pierced heart reveals your love for the Father and for us.
Pierce our hearts now
with and ever-deepening knowledge of your love,
and over come our slowness to believe in it.
May we make amends and learn to love you more,

She has known the unfathomable riches of Christ; her whole being was filled with his love; she leads us to him, pointing to his Heart, the source of boundless love that gives birth to a new world. (MSC Constitutions 18.)
Remember, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart,
the great things the Lord has done for you.
He chose you for his mother.
He wanted you close to his cross.
He gives you a share in his glory.
He listens to your prayer.
Offer him our prayers of praise and thanksgiving; present our petitions to him.
Let us live like you in the love of your Son so that his Kingdom may come.
Lead us to the source of living water that flows from his heart,
spreading over the world hope and salvation, justice and peace.
See our trust in you; answer our prayer.
Show yourself always our Mother. Amen,
We also honour Saint Joseph and place ourselves under the protection of that faithful and just man,

The MSC Justice and Peace Centre tries to promote God's love for all people in all places by actively drawing to the attention of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, their affiliates and co-workers, injustices where structure perpetuates violence, inequality, disadvantage, conflict and poverty in our world and, working with others in the MSC family to discover through reconciliation,

Chevalier College, Bowral, NSW
Chevalier College is a Catholic coeducational high school situated in the NSW Southern Highlands near Bowral.
The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC), is an order of religious Priests and Brothers founded by Father Jules Chevalier at Issoudun, France, in 1854. Jules Chevalier had a vision of a new world emerging and he wanted to make known the Gospel message of God's love and care for all men and women and to evoke a response in every human heart. He especially valued love, concern, compassion, understanding, respect and acceptance of every individual. His vision was based on the words of Jesus:
"I give you a new commandment, love one another.
Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another.
By this love you have for one another, everyone will know
that you are my disciples." (Jn 13:34 ff)
Chevalier College is owned by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and conducted by Chevalier College Limited, with a committed group of teachers and support staff. It began as a boarding school for boys in 1946 with a total enrolment of 40. Today, it is a coeducational day school with an enrolment of approximately 1100 students.
Chevalier nurtures a strong religious spirit, marked by Gospel values of FAITH and COMMUNITY. The College motto is Fortes in Fide, meaning Strong in Faith. Daramalan College, Dickson, ACT
Daramalan College, in Dickson, Canberra, was founded in 1962 by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.
Daramalan started as a Catholic school for boys with just 246 students and today has grown to become one of Canberra's largest secondary schools with over 1460 boys and girls from Years 7 to 12.

Downlands College, Toowoomba, QLD
Downlands College is an independent Catholic coeducational day and boarding school for students from Years P to 12, conducted by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.
Downlands was opened in 1931 as a boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 68. Today it accommodates 700+ day and 240 boarding students from all parts of Queensland, New South Wales, the Northern Territory and beyond.
From 2023 Downlands will be P-12. 240 boarders and 700+ day students.

Missionaries of the Sacred Heart is a Catholic religious order of brothers and priests established by Jules Chevalier in 1854 in France. The ‘MSC’ are dedicated to making the Sacred and Compassionate Heart of Jesus, known and loved by everyone, everywhere. The ‘MSC’ are also “Missionaries” and this characteristic also finds its way into the ministries it creates, one of which is music.
In Australia (and internationally) there are two MSC members who are well-loved and well-known for creating beautiful music used primarily in the Catholic Mass but also for private enjoyment be it spiritual or non-spiritual.
In the words of James Maher msc:
“Hymns and spiritual songs communicate a particular spirituality and a particular theology.
They can powerfully proclaim a gospel of love and liberation or they can narrow and distort the
gospel message. They can invite us into intimacy with a God who loves us, or they can reinforce
our fears and false beliefs. As a Missionary of the Sacred Heart, my desire is to live and promote
a spirituality consistently based on God’s compassion, revealed especially in the humanity of Jesus.
Through words and music, I desire to give expression to a spirituality that recognises the reality of
the Divine in the daily joys and struggles of life, and in the desires of the human heart.”
