Chevalier College
Celebrating 80 years of heart-centered education

Today marks exactly 80 years since Fr Harry Reid, MSC, welcomed the very first students to Chevalier College. It began in 1946 with 22 boarders, joined the following day by 18 day students.
From those first 40 students to the vibrant community we are today, the journey has been incredible. We’ve seen enrolments grow, embraced co-education in the 1970s, and continued to introduce future focused opportunities for our students.

Principal, Greg Miller, welcomes 2026 students, girls and boys.
Through eight decades of change, one thing remains constant: our heart-centred approach inspired by Fr Jules Chevalier and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC).

Today, we celebrate:
- Our Heritage: Giving thanks for the MSC priests, brothers, and lay staff who built our foundation.
- Our Present: Celebrating the wonderful students, staff, and families who make up our community today.
- Our Future: Looking ahead with hearts of joy and hope for the opportunities yet to come.
As MSC Constitution #34 reminds us, ours is a spirit of family, friendship, kindness, and, of course, a sense of humour.

John Mulrooney MSC, student 1966-1971, former Provincial Superior, is the current chaplain.
Happy 80th Anniversary, Chev! Here’s to the next 80 years
